Growing

It’s easy to resent where you grow up, especially when it’s often seen as a ‘stagnant’ place... we wanted to understand this perception of Bodmin, embrace it and challenge it!

Bodmin has grown significantly in our lifetimes and in Ellis’ photos we’ve found similar examples of changed or repurposed buildings, and of Bodmin expanding outwards to accommodate a growing community.

With the help of a young botanist, we also considered how growth impacts our diverse, local wildlife and stressed our responsibilities to protect these plants and animals who live in ‘ordinary’ places.
